The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is mourning a beloved deputy who died this week from COVID-19 complications.
Deputy Nicholas Howell died Sunday morning at Henry Piedmont Hospital, according to a statement posted on the office’s Facebook page.

The sheriff’s office said Howell’s family is requesting privacy at this time. Arrangements will be announced when they are finalized.
“Please keep in your thoughts and prayers, Deputy Howell’s family, his friends and his Henry County Sheriff’s Office family,” the sheriff’s office said.

It has been a difficult week for law enforcement in Henry County. The Henry County Police Department announced one of its officers died on Dec 27. The department did not release his name or cause of death in respect for the family’s privacy.
