MCDONOUGH, Ga. — A metro Atlanta community is searching for answers after a teenager died over the weekend.
Officials with the Henry County School District say that a McDonough Middle School student died, but did not comment on how.
Students and parents say he was stabbed to death near the school’s campus.

When Channel 2′s Audrey Washington arrived to the school, she found police parked in front of the school’s entrance.
“It’s more so traumatizing to know about a kid getting stabbed,” said former student Vincent Gusby Jr. “I did hear some screaming, but it was crazy because I couldn’t do anything about it.”
The deadly stabbing happened near City Square in McDonough.
Police say the suspect is also a teenager, but have not released that person’s name.
Channel 2 Action News has learned the name of the student who was killed, but is not releasing his name because he is a minor.

“Our condolences go out to this student’s family and school community during this difficult time. We will have counselors available to speak with any student or staff member needing to speak with someone,” the District said in a statement.
Police say that what led up to the stabbing is still being investigated.
