HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — A 6-year-old Henry County boy is dead and his mother and her boyfriend have been charged in his killing.
Henry County police said they were called out to the boy’s home on Sunday along Belmont Farms Drive in Ellenwood for a report that a boy was unconscious.
When EMTs got to the home, they said they found the boy unresponsive with blood coming from his mouth.
He was immediately taken to Piedmont Henry Hospital.
After examining the boy, doctors said they found numerous bruises all over his body.

The boy was then taken to Children’s Egleston Hospital where he was put on life support.
Following an investigation, Henry County police arrested and charge the boy’s mother and her boyfriend.
DeShante Lashawn Beard, 33, and Less Thompson, 29, were charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery and cruelty to children.
The boy was taken off life support on Wednesday.
Following his death, police upgraded charges against Beard and Thompson on Thursday, charging them with malice murder and felony murder.
