HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — A tense standoff ended with three people dead in a Henry County home early Friday morning. The victims have been identified as Sandra White, 39, and her 16-year-old son, Arkeyvion.

The standoff started in the Eagle Ridge subdivision in Stockbridge just before 11 a.m. Thursday. Henry County officers Keegan Merritt and Taylor Webb went to a home on Eagle Court and saw a woman on the garage floor.

Body cam video shows Webb kicking in the door after no one answered his knocks.

The gunman identified as Anthony "Tony" Bailey Jr, 47, shot Webb in the chest and hip, according to Henry County police. Officer Merritt was later shot in the hand. Both officers were immediately rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital.

Around 2:30 p.m. officers said Bailey had Arkeyvion hostage. Police worked through the afternoon and into the night to get Bailey to let the boy go.

People who live in that neighborhood could not go home. Around 9 p.m., police used tear gas to try to get Bailey to come out. That followed with another shootout.
