‘Ran her over again like she was a speed bump:’ Woman recovers after being hit by car twice

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — City of Hampton police asked the public to help identify a driver accused of running over a woman twice.

Authorities said the crash occurred on GA Highway 20 near Lower Woolsey Road on Jan. 2 at 9:15 p.m.

Witnesses told police the vehicle hit a woman, dragged her a short distance, stopped, and left the scene.

Lynett Smith said on GofundMe that the victim was Jasmine Gibson, a member of her family.

“[They] ran her over again like she was a speed bump. Absolutely horrifying,” Smith wrote.

Smith said Gibson has fractures in her face, a broken pelvis, a broken arm, cracked knees and internal bleeding.

Gibson is in the hospital undergoing surgery.

Police described the vehicle that hit Gibson as a white SUV that may have damage to the front area.
