ATLANTA — As clouds continue to move into north Georgia, so does the risk for severe storms.
Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Ashley Kramlich says starting tonight the risk for severe storms will go up across north Georgia. A level 2 out of 5 risk has been issued for West Georgia tonight. The threat for severe storms increases on Monday with all of North Georgia under a level 2 out of 5 risk for severe weather.
A flood watch goes into effect tonight at 7 p.m. through 7 p.m. on Monday.

Kramlich says that a warm front will move in tonight and this will place the region in the warm sector of the system which can produce strong and severe storms.
Waves of storms containing heavy rain will be likely through at least Monday afternoon.
A cold front will move across the area Monday evening, eventually bringing an end to the severe weather risk – and wet weather.
Monday evening, drier weather will move through the region.
Storms that develop Sunday night and Monday will be capable of:
- Heavy rain and possible flooding
- Damaging wind gusts
- Isolated tornadoes
