PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — A Paulding County restaurant had 21 violations in its latest inspection this month.
Atami Steak and Sushi failed its inspection on Oct. 7 after having two good previous scores, including a 96 in February.
The restaurant on Cedarcrest, known for its hibachi and sushi, failed its inspection this month with a score of 41.
The violations included an employee improperly washing hands, an orange juice container in contact with a raw chicken container in the cooler and knifes on the hibachi cart covered in grease and food particles.
When Channel 2’s Carol Sbarge walked in the restaurant, they didn't have their current score of 41 posted. They had their last score posted, which was an 86.
Sbarge was told the owner would contact us, but so far she has not heard from him.
The inspector also found that the person in charge on the day of the inspection lacked awareness in risk factor control. The report said that person needs to be properly trained.
Atami Steak and Sushi is expected to get re-inspected within the next week.
