COBB COUNTY, Ga. — It’ll be about another month before Channel 2’s Erin Coleman returns to the anchor desk after giving birth to a baby boy.
Today, Erin’s co-anchor Craig Lucie caught up with her bonding at home with her new bundle of joy.
From the moment when Channel 2 crews walked in, she was smiling non-stop. Despite the early mornings, she seems to be adjusting to motherhood.
Her 10-pound son is sleeping five hours max, which isn't too bad considering he's barely two months old.
“I’ve been watching a lot of the morning show at 4:30 in the morning,” she laughed. "You know it's a real challenge aside from sleep deprivation. Everything has been really good. We are learning each other. He's learning me. I'm learning him. It's been great."
As they caught up, Erin explained the moment she first laid eyes on her son.
“When I first saw him, it was very instinctual. Automatically I was in momma mode completely. I said I would do anything for this kid,” Erin said.
She says her son completely stole her and her husband’s hearts.
Now that Erin’s not rushing to meet a story deadline and make it to the news set on time, this is her typical day.
“We wake up, take a nap, we eat, we take another nap, we change some diapers, we take a nap,” said Erin.
She says it's been a nice break.
"My husband and I went on our first date night last weekend," she said.
Fans have been flooding Channel 2’s Facebook wall, asking when Erin will come back. They won’t have to wait much longer – she’ll be back on the anchor desk in late December.
