MONROE COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities in Monroe County say they have caught an inmate who escaped from jail in Forsyth.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said Matthew Pippin was in custody for a violation for a nonviolent drug offense.
Pippin disappeared in the area of Ensign Road in Forsyth. He was still wearing a black and white jumpsuit.
Investigators confirmed to Channel 2 Action News late Thursday afternoon that Pippin had been taken back into custody.
He is being charged with escape.
