Inmate hid cell phones, tablets and more inside stacks of paperwork at Ga. prison

TATTNALL COUNTY, Ga. — Georgia Department of Corrections officials say prisoners are getting very creative about where to hide their contraband.

Officers at Smith State Prison say they recently found what looked to be like a stack of legal documents.

When looking at them further, officers noticed that the documents had holes cut into them that were hiding dozens of electronics.

In total, officers found five cell phones, 18 tablets, 21 chargers, two batteries and more in the documents.

Authorities have not identified the prisoner or confirmed if he will face any further charges related to the contraband.
