How to check the capacity at your local hospital

ATLANTA — As the Delta variant of COVID-19 spreads across Georgia, metro Atlanta hospitals are filling up.

Though cases, fueled by the highly-contagious delta variant, have dropped, hospital ICUs across Georgia are still hovering around 90% capacity.

The Georgia Coordinating Center tracks how busy hospitals across the state are.

Since late July several major metro Atlanta hospitals have periodically been on diversion and unable to accept ambulances. A few were also on total ICU diversion and were not accepting new critical patients.

Several emergency departments were listed as “severely crowded.”
