JASPER COUNTY, Ga — Jasper County Charter System will be closed for students on Tuesday as the county continues to recover from, according to a Facebook post from the district.
Storms caused extreme damage to parts of the county and neighboring areas.
Faculty and staff will report to work on a regular schedule, according to the district.

School administration says it will provide another update on when schools will reopen to students on Tuesday.
Last week, 32-year-old Jesse Maxwell, a lineman with Georgia Right of Way, was killed while working to restore power to his community in Jasper County.

Neighboring Griffin-Spalding County schools also announced that they would not have school on Tuesday or Wednesday as it works to recover from tornado damage.
