PLAINS, Ga. — Former President Jimmy Carter and wife Rosalyn once again proved that theirs is a love for the ages.
A sweet photo shows the former president, 96, stealing a kiss from his wife of 74 years on New Year’s Eve.
The photo was taken by longtime family friend Jill Stuckey at her home in Plains. Stuckey is currently the superintendent of the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site.

Stuckey said the photo was taken around 8 p.m. behind her house, which is 11 doors down from the Carters’ home.
“This was their New Year kiss,” Stuckey said. “They are always ahead of the crowd.”
Like sneaking their kiss a bit early, the Carters also put a personal spin on the traditional ball drop by dropping a blue peanut instead.
“The room that the peanut is being dropped from was the room President Carter’s mother and father moved into when they got married,” Stuckey said. “So he was conceived there!”
