GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — Jury selection will begin October 18th in the trial of three men accused in the death of Ahmaud Arbery last year.
Court documents said the trial of Travis McMichael, Greg McMichael and William “Roddy” Bryan will begin immediately after the jury is selected in Glynn County.

Arbery, 25, was jogging through a Brunswick neighborhood when the McMichaels and Bryan chased after him in a pickup truck. Travis McMichael and Arbery got into a scuffle and McMichael shot and killed Arbery, investigators said.

The group claimed Arbery was a burglary suspect in the neighborhood. They claimed citizen’s arrest powers in the chase before Travis McMichael shot and killed Arbery. Bryan recorded the shooting on video, which went viral months after Arbery’s death.
Arbery’s family has repeatedly said that he was only jogging through the neighborhood.
Frank Hogue, an attorney for Gregory McMichael, said in court that the trio acted in self-defense. An investigator testified last year that Travis McMichael was heard using a racial slur after shooting Arbery.
The men also face federal hate crime charges.
