Justin Wilfon joins Channel 2 Action News

Justin Wilfon will join Channel 2 Action News as a weekend anchor and reporter.

ATLANTA — Channel 2 WSB-TV announced this morning that news veteran Justin Wilfon will be joining Wendy Corona to co-anchor the weekend editions of Channel 2 Action News at 6 and 11 p.m. He will be reporting during the week.

General Manager Tim McVay andNews Director Misti Turnbull made the announcement Monday morning to the newsroom staff that Wilfon will start September 12th.

“I am very excited to bring Justin’s depth of experience to Metro Atlanta and North Georgia,” said Turnbull. “He and his family will be an excellent asset to our community, and Justin will fit in perfectly with the experienced team at Channel 2 Action News.”

Wilfon is an accomplished anchor and reporter with extensive experience in both jobs. He most recently worked as an anchor/reporter for KSHB-TV in Kansas City, Missouri.

Prior to KSHB-TV, he anchored the morning and noon newscasts for KJRH-TV in Tulsa. He got his start in television at WSIU-TV in Carbondale before moving on to KEPR-TV in Washington, WAVE-TV in Kentucky and KOKI-TV in Tulsa.

Wilfon is a graduate of the Southern Illinois University at Carbondale where he majored in Radio/Television News and minored in History.

He has actively supported local community projects and charitable organizations including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Rose Brooks Domestic Violence Shelter and KC Healthy Kids. Wilfon has been a Big Brother and was named the Big Brother of the Year in 2012.

Wilfon is married and the father of a nine month old daughter.
