LAGRANGE, Ga. — LaGrange police say a man who assaulted his girlfriend before kidnapping her is on the run.

Several hours later, Hargett took her back to her home and forced her back inside, she said. A neighbor reportedly saw Hargett and called the police. Police say by the time they arrived, he had already run from the scene.
Investigators say the woman had a cut under her eye and several bruises all over her face and body. The front door also had damage consistent with it having been kicked in.
Police say this is an ongoing investigation.
