At least 29,000 Georgians without power after storms move through metro Atlanta, north Ga.

ATLANTA — Nearly 30,000 Georgians are without power after storms moved through metro Atlanta and north Georgia Saturday afternoon and evening.

According to Georgia Power, at least 29,260 customers are being affected by nearly 300 outages.

More than 25,000 of those customers are in metro Atlanta, according to the outage map.

Some of the largest outages as of 7 p.m. included:

  • 6,000 people in Fulton County near Mt. Zion Road and Cleveland Avenue
  • 5,300 people in Clayton County near Mt. Zion Parkway
  • 2,100 people in Fulton County near Fairburn Road and Greenbriar Parkway
  • 1,400 people in Clayton County near Rex Road

Georgia Power officials say they are experiencing widespread outages, so they are still evaluating the conditions.

There is no word on when customers can expect to have their power restored.
