ATLANTA — A curfew is now in effect in City of Atlanta that will last until sunrise Monday morning.
The city saw another day of protests across the metro Atlanta area, several of them peaceful. Only small groups of agitators remained downtown Sunday night.

10:56 p.m. People who remain on the streets of downtown Atlanta are being taken into custody.
10:40 p.m.
Buckhead and Lenox Mall are heavily guarded and quiet tonight.
10:16 p.m. National Guard officers are in place around Centennial Olympic Park tonight to keep the peace overnight. The are has mostly cleared out.
9:52 p.m. Athens-Clarke County has declared a state of emergency tonight.
9:31 p.m. Atlanta police have identified two officers who were fired for using excessive force last night as Ivory Streeter and Mark Gardner.

The curfew is now in effect, but several protesters remain on the street. Police are moving quickly through the streets of downtown in full riot gear.
8:50 p.m. It appears some protesters in downtown Atlanta are forming a barricade between themselves and police just minutes ahead of a city-wide curfew at 9 p.m.
8:40 p.m.
Protesters have started to throw things, light fireworks and clash with police in downtown Atlanta.
8:23 p.m. A public safety alert just went out to phones across metro Atlanta warning people of the curfew that starts at 9 p.m.
8:21 p.m. A massive crowd of protesters who have walked from Atlantic Station to downtown Atlanta has arrived near Centennial Olympic Park. News Chopper 2 shows huge crowds at the intersection of Marietta Street where people are throwing items at police and there are plumes of smoke.
7:28 p.m. Channel 2′s Justin Gray is in downtown Athens, where several hundred people have gathered for a peaceful protest.
7:18 p.m. A group of protesters have staged a peaceful sit-in on the 17th street bridge.
6:15 p.m. Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced Sunday night that two Atlanta police officers caught on video Tasing and dragging two college students out of a car during protests Saturday night have been fired.
5:48 p.m. Channel 2′s Audrey Washington is in downtown Atlanta, where there is a huge police presence.
5:33 p.m. Channel 2′s Tom Regan is at the state capitol, where buildings are being guarded by the Georgia National Guard.
4:33 p.m. Officials with the Atlanta University Center has asked Atlanta Mayor Bottoms and Atlanta Police Chief Shields to investigate after viral video of two AUC students being arrested and apparently tased in their car Saturday night.
“Last night, two members of the Atlanta University Center family (one from Morehouse College and one from Spelman College) were detained with unnecessary force by law enforcement in downtown Atlanta,” officials said. “While we understand the need to maintain order, the abusive behavior reported to us is completely unacceptable.”

4:01 p.m. Police say 157 people were arrested in protests in Atlanta yesterday.
4:00 p.m. Georgia National Guard troops underwent riot control training today to prepare for tonight’s potential protests. Gov. Kemp has authorized up to 3,000 troops to help local authorities keep the peace tonight.

MARTA will suspend all rail, bus and paratransit service again Sunday night starting at 9 p.m.
3:00 p.m.
The Atlanta University Center are set to engage in peaceful protest starting at 3 p.m. after two AUC students were arrested by police last night in a viral video. The group is walking to Centennial Park for a protest at 5 p.m.
3:00 p.m. Gov. Brian Kemp tweeted video of the Georgia National Guard “ready for mission assignments across our state to prepare for protests and keep our community safe.”
2:00 p.m. The Mayor has announced the city will be under curfew again Sunday starting at 9 p.m.
11:00 a.m. The Georgia NAACP announces it will host a press conference at Noon today to discuss everything that has happened this weekend.
“We are deeply disturbed by the inaction that has come in the wake of the deaths of countless African- Americans in the state and are calling for swift and immediate action to resolve every single demand that we have outlined here. Two local college students were violently detained in a way that highlights the urgency for us to save Black lives,” stated the Georgia NAACP President, Reverend James Woodall.
9:30 a.m. The peaceful protest and service has begun at New Birth Missionary Baptist.
8:16 a.m.
Channel 2′s Kristen Holloway is at New Birth Missionary Baptist, where church members will discuss their concerns about recent deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor.
The church will hold a service and peaceful protest starting at 9:30 a.m.
7:02 a.m.
Channel 2′s Darryn Moore is in downtown Atlanta following the cleanup efforts Sunday morning. He spoke with former Atlanta Falcons linebacker Chris Draft, who was out helping.
“Whoever did this was bent on making a mess and had complete disrespect for our city. But that’s not everybody. It’s wrong, it’s terrible, but it’s not Atlanta,” Draft said.
6:30 a.m.
An Atlanta curfew that went into effect Saturday ended at sunrise Sunday morning. MARTA services are slowly resuming now that the curfew is over.
6:10 a.m.
Channel 2′s Richard Elliott is at the Target off Piedmont Road and Sidney Marcus Boulevard, where firefighters were battling a small, smoldering fire.
Atlanta firefighters at the scene said they could not say if it was arson and related to the protests or if there was a different cause of the fire.
The store and another Buckhead location are part of the 175 stores nationwide that Target is temporarily closing.
