Storms move out of area, cooler temperatures move in

ATLANTA — Storms have officially moved out of the metro area -- and cooler temperatures have moved in for Monday.

Severe Weather Team 2 tracked several tornado warnings throughout metro Atlanta on Sunday.

Severe Weather Team 2 meteorologist Eboni Deon says Sunday night will end with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid-40s.

Early Monday morning, expect low to mid-40s and even high 30s in some areas of north Georgia. The next best chance of rain doesn't arrive until Friday, making a mostly sunny workweek.

All warnings have expired.

8:53 p.m.

A tornado warning has been issued for parts of Morgan and Greene counties, moving northeast. It will be in effect until 9:30 p.m.

8:47 p.m.

A tornado warning has been issued for Franklin and Hart counties in northeast Georgia, moving northeast. This is just outside of the Channel 2 viewing area.

7:58 p.m.

Severe thunderstorm warning canceled for Gwinnett and DeKalb counties.

7:38 p.m.:

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for DeKalb, Forsyth, Gwinnett, southeast Fulton and northeast Clayton counties. The warning will be in effect until 8 p.m.

6:28 p.m.

A Flash Flood Warning will be in effect for Lumpkin and Dawson counties until 12:15 a.m.

5:09 p.m.

ABC News reports at least six people have died, including two children, as a result of severe storms that ripped through the South over the weekend.

16 tornadoes were reported across four states, with five in Texas, two in Louisiana, four in Mississippi and five in Alabama.

4:29 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for parts of north Georgia until 10 p.m.

The severe weather threat is winding down for north Georgia, according to Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns.

1:28 p.m.

The tornado warning for Gwinnett has expired. A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Barrow, Jackson and Hall counties.

Rabun and Habersham are also under a thunderstorm warning until 2:15 p.m.

12:10 p.m.

The tornado warning has expired for Henry and Butts counties.

12:05 p.m.

Spalding has been dropped from the tornado warning but the warning remains in effect for Butts and Henry counties until 12:30 p.m.

A tornado warning has been issued for Henry, Butts and Spalding counties until 12:15 p.m.

Henry and Spalding counties are now under severe thunderstorm warning

The tornado warning for Lamar, Upson, Pike and Talbot counties have expired. A severe thunderstorm warning is now in effect for Butts, Lamar and Pike until 12:15 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued now for Upson County until 11:45 a.m.

We are now hearing of damage reports in Polk and Paulding counties with trees down on several roads.

Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns has adjuted the storm threats for Sunday. The tornado and hail impact is now low, but the strong wind gusts are moderate.

Several northwest counties have been dropped from the tornado watch. Randolph and Cleburne counties in Alabama are no longer under a tornado watch.
