Locust Grove assistant police chief dies of cancer

Officials say Locust Grove Assistant Police Chief Ken Swanson died at his home Saturday after battling cancer.

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — Channel 2 Action News has learned Locust Grove Assistant Police Chief Ken Swanson has died after battling cancer for more than two years.

Swanson, who served on the force for 21 years, died at his home Saturday, officials told Channel 2's Mark Winne.

A visitation will be held Oct. 15 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hastings Funeral Home in McDonough. A visitation is also scheduled Oct. 16 from 2 p.m.to 4 p.m., followed by a memorial service at Hastings Funeral Home.
