ROSWELL, Ga. — Ten people are now facing charges in the death of a Louisiana State University fraternity pledge from Georgia, according to a university police statement.
The LSU police statement on Wednesday says one of the 10 suspects also faces a negligent homicide charge in the death of 18-year-old Maxwell Gruver, a freshman from Roswell, Georgia.
Arrests warrants have been issued for:
1. Matthew Alexander Naquin, (charges of hazing and negligent homicide)
2. Zachary Castillo, (charge of hazing)
3. Elliott Eaton, (charge of hazing)
4. Patrick Forde, (charge of hazing)
5. Sean Paul Gott, DOB, (charge of hazing)
6. Zachary Hall, (charge of hazing)
7. Ryan Isto, (charge of hazing)
8. Hudson Kirkpatrick, (charge of hazing)
9. Sean Pennison, (charge of hazing)
10. Nicholas Taulli, (charge of hazing)
Gruver was taken to a hospital from the Phi Delta Theta fraternity house in September. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The exact circumstances surrounding Gruver's death are unclear. Toxicology testing has indicated that Gruver’s alcohol level was .495 at his time of death.
LSU spokesman Ernie Ballard says eight of the suspects are LSU students.
Gruver graduated from Blessed Trinity Catholic High School in Roswell earlier this year.
Gruver's mother responded to the arrests on Facebook saying:
"My son is dead now. I don't know how people can live with themselves. But you "brothers" will have to live with it EVERY DAY for the rest of your lives!"
