GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Police have arrested a man in the death of a Gwinnett County father shot and killed while driving to work.
Don Wardlaw was shot and killed around 4:30 a.m. on Jan. 27. The shooting caused Wardlaw to crash his car into a front yard on Rockbridge Road. Police said he died as a result of the shooting.

Police arrested Michael Charles Jackson, 63, on Wednesday. Jackson’s charges include malice murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Channel 2′s Steve Gehlbach spoke with Wardlaw’s family the week after his death.
Wardlaw’s sister-in-law said his death has been especially hard for his 19-year-old son and 16-year-old daughter. Wardlaw was his son’s hero.
“Bryce won’t have that ever again, and Sierra was her daddy’s girl,” Danielle McKinley said.
A GoFundMe page set up for the family has raised $14,000.
