Man who escaped Haralson County Detention Center captured in Alabama

HARALSON COUNTY, Ga. — The Haralson County Sheriff’s Office say an inmate has been captured in Alabama after escaping from the Haralson County Detention Center earlier this week.

Investigators said Gregory Wyatt, 34, crawled up through a ceiling light, crawled through a pipe and escaped through the north side of the detention center at some point Monday night.

There was an active search for Wyatt until he was captured in Talladega, Alabama Tuesday evening.

Officials said Wyatt barricaded himself in a house before he was taken into custody by the Talledega County Sheriff’s Office.
