ROME, Ga. — A man who was shot in the head near a Floyd County car dealership has died from his injuries.
Rome police said Tuesday that Scott Hayes, 39, died Tuesday morning.
Jeffrey Shedrick, 32, was arrested on Monday connected to the shooting.

The department responded to a shots fired call near Dodd Boulevard around 10 a.m. Monday morning.
Police searched in a wooded area behind a car dealership and found the victim with gunshot wounds to his head and back.
Hayes was taken to a nearby hospital and underwent surgery. He later died from his injuries.
Shedrick was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime and violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act.
Shedrick has now been charged with felony murder and tampering with evidence.
