ATLANTA — Police officers are investigating a deadly shooting in downtown Atlanta late Tuesday night.
According to officers, Deonte Rogers, 26, of Atlanta, was shot in the area of Piedmont and Auburn avenues.
Police say Rogers was shot at least twice. He died despite being shot only a few blocks from a hospital.
Authorities are searching for at least two people, who they say specifically targeted the victim.
"All I saw was two dudes running down the street and one of them had a gun," witness Jamar Jackson said.
Police are hoping more witnesses will come forward.
