COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A man died moments after he was hit by a bus getting off in front of a fast food restaurant in Cobb County.
The accident happened Friday evening on Ernest Barrett Parkway.
Cobb police said that 65-year-old Steve Haskins got off at the CobbLinc bus stop by the Burger King near Chastain Meadows Parkway.

After he stepped off the bus, Haskins fell next to the bus on the sidewalk and a concrete gutter.
The bus driver pulled off to continue the route when the right tire hit Haskins in the leg.
Someone passing by saw the 65-year-old on the sidewalk and called 911.

Paramedics arrived two minutes later, but Haskins died from his injuries.
No charges will be filed against the bus driver, who was unaware that Haskins was injured.
