U.S. Marshals have arrested a man wanted in the shooting death of a 7-year-old girl in Buckhead.
Kennedy Maxie was shot while Christmas shopping with her family near Phipps Plaza and died from her injuries six days later.
On Dec. 29, Atlanta police identified the suspect as Daquan Reed, 24 of Virginia. On Wednesday, Reed was taken into custody in Hampton, Virginia.

Lead investigator Lt. Pete Malecki said Atlanta police secured warrants for Reed’s arrest on felony murder charge. He is also facing charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and reckless conduct.
There had been a $15,000 reward for any information that would lead to Reed’s arrest.
