HARDWICK, Ga. — An inmate at a Georgia state prison is back where he’s supposed to be after escaping during his work detail.
The Georgia Department of Corrections says inmate William Knight escaped on Monday. Knight is currently serving an involuntary manslaughter sentence at the Baldwin State Prison.
They announced on Tuesday night that he was captured at 7:45 p.m. in Washington County.
Officials said Knight left his work detail in Hardwick and was last seen driving a grey Toyota Corolla with Georgia license plate ABN5644.

“State and local law enforcement have set up and maintained a perimeter throughout the night in a heavily wooded area in Washington Co where he was last seen by Officers, and are continuing their search,” Georgia DOC said.
