MARTA officer accused of sending explicit texts to teen

A MARTA police officer accused of sending explicit text messages to a teenage girl was arrested on Wednesday, officials confirmed to Channel 2's Ryan Young.

Willie Clarence Lee Jr., 46, is charged with child molestation and sexual exploitation of a child.

Police say an adult noticed disturbing text messages and a pornographic image on the phone of a 14-year-old girl. The child's caregiver filed a report with DeKalb County police who determined Lee sent the messages, police said.

Lee is being held in the DeKalb County jail on $5,000 bond.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga.,None — A MARTA spokeswoman confirmed the arrest to Young in an email stating, "The MARTA Police Department has placed Officer Lee on administrative leave. Any questions regarding the details of the arrest should be directed to DeKalb County Police."
