MARTA police offering up to $16K in tuition reimbursement, sign-on, and shift differential bonuses

ATLANTA — The MARTA Police Department is ready to hire. The department is holding a hiring event for police officers, dispatchers/call-takers, emergency preparedness coordinators, and protective specialists.

Pay starts at $47,000 and tops out at $67,271 for officers, according to the department.

The MARTA Police Department is holding a job fair on Saturday, Oct. 15.

The job fair will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at MARTA Police Headquarters at 2400 Piedmont Rd. NE in Atlanta.

All MARTA Police employees are eligible for an annual $6,000 bonus for working evening and weekend shifts.

The MARTA Police Department says they are offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus for all lateral certified police officers and dispatchers and a $3,000 sign-on bonus for non-certified personnel who agree to serve three years with the department. Employees can also earn a $5,000 tuition reimbursement.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be 18 or older for Call Taker, Dispatcher, or Protective Specialists (21 for Police)

• Must be a U.S. citizen                                             

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent   

• Must have a valid driver’s license 

• Emergency Preparedness Coordinator: 5 years emergency management experience and bachelor’s degree in related field.
