ATLANTA — There’s a new group of New Year’s newborns being welcomed into the world this Jan. 1.
Hospitals across metro Atlanta are introducing us to their first babies born in 2025.

The first baby born in metro Atlanta this year was Cole who barely missed being born in 2024. He entered the world at 12:07 a.m. at Emory Johns Creek Hospital to parents Jean and Patrick. He is the couple’s third child and is eight pounds, three ounces and 19 inches long.
Over at Emory Decatur Hospital, baby Adonis was born at 12:23 a.m. to first-time parents Athena and Daniel. He is seven pounds exactly and is 20.75 inches long.
Just a few minutes after Adonis, Mara Farias was born at 12:27 a.m. to her parents Trinity Salas and Luis Farias at Northside Gwinnett Hospital. She weighed nine pounds, one ounce.
Just a few minutes after Mara, Beckett Bowers made his entrance at Piedmont Columbus Regional at 12:30 a.m. He joins his parents Carolina and Shane Bowers and two older siblings in Fort Moore. He is right pounds, 14 ounces and 20 inches long.
Just a few minutes after Beckett, Stetson Michael Lingerfelt made his arrival at 12:32 a.m. at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville. His parents are Kayla Hamrick and Shawn Lingerfelt of Cumming. He weighed six pounds, 14 ounces and was 21 inches long.
Over in Cobb County, Hallie Mathis was born at Wellstar Kennestone Medical Center at 1:11 a.m. to Ross and Lauren Mathis of Marietta. She was seven pounds, 15.5 ounces and 20.5 inches long.
Westley Greenewald was the first baby born at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton at 2:00 a.m. His parents are Kayla and Stephen Greenewald. He weighed in at seven pounds, 11 ounces and was 19.75 inches long.

Just a few minutes after Westley, Jade Johnson made her entrance to Piedmont Fayette Hospital at 2:07 a.m. Her parents are Mark Mitchell and Jordan Johnson. She was eights pounds, four ounces and was 21 inches long.
In Douglas County, Ja’Lonnie Jorjiana Taplin was the first baby at Wellstar Douglas Medical Center. She joined her parents Tyra Crosby and Fabian Taplin Jr. in Douglasville at 3:35 a.m. She was six pounds, 8.8 ounces and is 20 inches long.
At 4:32 a.m., baby Sloan was born to Allyson and Bryan at Emory University Hospital Midtown. She is seven pounds, eight ounces and 20 inches long.
One minute later, Piedmont Athens Regional says they welcomed Lily Clayton at 4:33 a.m. Her parents are Zach and Abigail Clayton of Athens. Lily weighed seven pounds exactly.
Up in Habersham County, Walker James Crump made his entrance at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Habersham at 5:26 a.m. to Anna and Nathan Crump of Toccoa. He is six pounds, nine ounces and 19.5 inches long.
At Wellstar North Fulton Medical Center, Antonia Aponte-Osorio was the first baby born at 5:37 a.m. to her parents Valentina Osorio and Sebastian Aponte. She’s seven pounds, 15.3 ounces and 21.26 inches long.
At 11:13 a.m., Wellstar Cobb Medical Center welcomed Genesis Murry with her parents Adrian Evans and Lee Murry of Lawrenceville. She was seven pounds, 7.8 ounces and 20.25 inches long.
Wellstar Spalding Medical Center and Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center also welcomed New Year’s Day babies, but haven’t yet shared details on them.
