EAST POINT, Ga. — Workers at Amazon’s East Point warehouse are calling for an end to unfair labor practices.

On Wednesday, the Atlanta Six warehouse group and community leaders held a press conference.
They announced that they’re filing an official complaint against the company.

Last month, workers delivered a petition with more than 300 signatures to managers, calling for an increase to $18 hourly base pay and a $5 raise.
They are now asking the company to respond.
A former employee also said he was fired after filing the petition and says they discriminated against his illness.
“I had a kidney transplant about a year ago, and I need continued doctors’ appointments for follow-up. Amazon did not see that as a valid enough reason to give me time off as I needed, even after providing several doctor’s notes and letters,” Brandon Callaway said.

Amazon held its second Prime Day event last week.
Workers say it is one of the most dangerous times on the job for warehouse workers.
Channel 2 reached out to Amazon, but they have not yet responded.
