Metro businesses turn to health officials for bringing employees back to work

ATLANTA — It’s a challenging time for businesses that are beginning to bring workers back to the office.

Many are getting guidance from healthcare professionals.

Channel 2’s Carol Sbarge found out the steps a small investment firm in Buckhead is taking.

Peter Pettit, like all twenty-one employees at MSouth Equity Partners, is getting tested for coronavirus.

The partner in the investment firm took video for Sbarge to show how they are preparing as workers return to the office.

He says they want to do anything they can to encourage employee safety and help people in the work environment.

Peter says anyone who tests positive will stay home under quarantine and seek needed treatment.

CHR Healthcare is doing the on-site testing and says there’s been an increase in companies doing this as offices reopen.

CEO Bill Miller says they can help them through how to test the entire workforce, what to do with the positives that come up through testing and how to manage their return to work.

Testing is just one step MSouth Equity Partners is taking.

They’re also setting up social distancing. That includes maintaining six feet distances, limiting capacity by half in conference rooms, restricting visitors except for essential meetings and restricting business travel.

This is very new territory for businesses and healthcare experts as they work on ways to minimize coronavirus risk for employees.
