Severe Weather Team 2 tracked several active tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings Thursday afternoon. Heavy rain flooded streets and evacuated homes in parts of north Georgia earlier in the day.

The National Weather Service confirmed an EF1 tornado hit Walton County.

9:50 p.m.: A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Forsyth and Fulton counties until 12:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
9:39 p.m.: A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Coweta County until further notice.
9:03 p.m.: A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Butts, Henry, Lamar, Pike, Spalding, and Upson counties until 3:00 a.m. Friday.

2:20 p.m.: Channel 2's Richard Elliot holds a Facebook Live outside Cave Spring in Floyd County were heavy rain has flooded the area.
1:41 p.m.: Channel 2's Richard Elliot is in Floyd County where police are blocking Highway 477 into Cave Spring due to flooding.
1:04 p.m.: Channel 2's Tom Regan arrived in Floyd County where he found flooding in Cave Spring.
12:45 p.m.: Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brad Nitz says low pressure moving out of Alabama will enhance the rainfall and our flash flood threats.
12:28 p.m.: Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brad Nitz says there was a confirmed EF-1 tornado with 100 mph wind that touched down Wednesday evening in Social Circle, Walton County.
12:25 p.m.: Nitz says there will be some breaks in the rain overnight. Rain continues into the weekend and as it starts to taper off, temperatures will start to reach 80 and 90 degrees.
12:20 p.m.: The National Weather Service is on the ground in Walton County working to determine if a tornado touched down there on Wednesday.
12:10 p.m.: Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brad Nitz says more than two inches of rain has fallen in the past 12 hours in Cave Spring. More than four inches of rain has fallen this week.
12:05 p.m.: An estimated 800 customers remain without power in DeKalb County after Wednesday night's storms as more rain is expected today.
12 p.m.: Severe Weather Team 2 is tracking additional heavy downpours across parts of metro Atlanta.
11:55 a.m.: Several roads are closed and Floyd County police say they are helping residents evacuate some homes in the area of Cave Spring.
11:45 a.m.: A flash flood warning has been issued for Cave Spring in southwestern Floyd County.
Cave Spring Elementary School is dismissing students at 12 p.m. as a precaution.
Today is their first day of school.
Several streets were closed in the area just before noon.
Heavy downpours were over parts of Floyd County and rain was already falling in Rabun County by 5 a.m. Thursday.
As of 12:50 p.m., there were an estimated 2,500 Georgia Power customers without power.

Most areas had steady rain with lightning possible.
Temperatures were mostly in the 70s Thursday.
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for metro Atlanta and surrounding counties until Friday morning.
The impacts include flooding of rivers, streams and creeks and ponding on roads.
Strong storms slammed northern Georgia Wednesday afternoon into the evening.
At least five homes in Walton County were damaged.
