ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. — Investigators seized nearly 100 pounds of cocaine in Rockdale County.
In a news release, officials announced Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office Surge Team members along with other state and local agencies, conducted a traffic stop on I-20 westbound between West Avenue and Sigman Road.

During this stop, Investigators seized a total of 38 packages weighing 97.96 pounds of cocaine. The estimated street value of the cocaine is over $2 million.
Authorities arrested Victor Gomez-Perez. He's been with charged with trafficking cocaine and is now in the Rockdale County Jail.
In a statement, Sheriff Eric Levett said:
"This seizure is proof that this Surge Team is following my vision of continuing to rid this county of criminals. Especially those who attempt to bring drugs in. I am a crime-fighter and I made a promise to my Citizens to keep Rockdale safe!! Criminals are not welcome in Rockdale and we will catch them."<br/>
