Motorcyclist killed in wreck on Windy Hill Road

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Emergency crews rushed a mother and her child to the hospital, and a motorcyclist was killed in a wreck on Windy Hill Road.

The wreck happened Thursday night near the intersection of Windy Hill and Favor roads.

Several teens were playing basketball at a church on the corner of the intersection at the time of the wreck and one of those teens told Channel 2's Tyisha Fernandes he saw it happen.

"It was gruesome, like the motorcycle was shattered," Altimar Williams said.

Several Cobb County police officers blocked off a section of Windy Hill and Favor roads, a white KIA, collided with a motorcycle.

Police say the man on the motorcycle died  at the scene.

"I was just praying for (the) dude, in my head I was like his family need prayers," Ezra Brown told Fernandes.

According to police, the driver of the KIA was turning in front of the motorcycle when the crash happened.

Right now, they believe it was the car driver's fault.

"It's going to still be up to investigators, as to who's at fault in the collision, but charges are pending, or expected to be filed," said Alicia Chilton with the Cobb County Police Department.

"I looked back at the car and it was like boom!" Brown said. "Dude flipped off the motorcycle, then I looked back, his body was lying (in the road)."

Police say the woman white KIA and her daughter in the passenger seat were transported to a nearby hospital and are expected to be OK.

"She didn't know what happened, she was like shocked," said Kezmon Ross.
