SOUTH FULTON, Ga — Fire officials confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that a fatal accident has shut down traffic in both directions on a busy South Fulton road.
Officials said the accident was on the 2800 block of Jonesboro Road in between Bethsaida Road and Old National Highway.
It is unclear how many people are dead or exactly how the accident occurred.

Channel 2 Action News has reached out to the police to learn more about this fatal accident.
Channel 2′s Elizabeth Rawlins was at the scene of the crash, where some drivers said the road is just not safe.

City Council member Linda Pritchett was among the drivers stopped in traffic Monday morning on Jonesboro Road. She said that despite adding law enforcement and additional traffic signals, drivers still speed.
“I ask the citizens to be mindful about how you’re driving down this stretch,” Pritchett said.
A husband and wife were killed at the intersection fo Jonesboro Road and Bethsaida Road last May.
The victim has not been identified. The crash is still under investigation.
