CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Clayton County sheriff and police agencies worked together to arrest 88 people in connection with street racing on Saturday. Street racing has been an issue in many metro Atlanta cities for months.
The racers were arrested in the Sam’s Club parking lot on Jonesboro Rd. in Clayton County early Sunday morning. Deputies and officers arrived after a call of street racers laying drag in the parking lot.

The deputies and officers arrived and blocked all entrances and exits to the parking lot. Spikes strips were put down as another deterrent to stop motorist from leaving the parking lot. Once a perimeter was secured deputies and officers went car by car and arrested the violators.
This was a pretty successful operation for both agencies. In addition to the 88 arrests, four guns were seized, nearly 50 cars were impounded and less than an ounce of marijuana was recovered.
