Deputies put out plea for video that may show suspects wanted in deadly Newton County shooting

NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. — The Newton County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help tracking down any possible video footage of a shooting that left one dead and possibly two others injured.

As we first reported on WSB Tonight on Monday, two people were shot in the Wildcat Creek Subdivision in Newton County around 3 p.m. Monday.

Two victims were taken to Piedmont Newton Hospital, where one was pronounced dead. The other victim was last listed in critical condition and was expected to be transported to Grady Memorial Hospital.

Later in the day, officials said a third victim checked into Gwinnett County Medical Center, where he is in critical condition. They are still working to determine if that person is connected to this shooting.

The sheriff’s office identified the deceased as Braxton Singleton, of Covington.

Deputies are asking people in the area to check their security cameras for any possible video footage that might help them track down the shooter or shooters in this case.
