ATHENS, Ga. — The battle for the nation’s top high school football recruit is over.
Five-star quarterback Arch Manning officially committed to the University of Texas on Thursday afternoon.
Manning picked the Longhorns over the Georgia Bulldogs.

Many considered the Bulldogs as the favorite to land Manning for for the Class of 2023. Manning is the son of Cooper Manning, nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning and the grandson of Archie Manning.
Arch Manning recently visited Georgia earlier this month. He also made a visit to Alabama.

Manning plays at New Orleans Isidore Newman High School, where his family has always played.
The quarterback has thrown for 72 touchdowns and 5,731 passing yards heading into his senior year.
