SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — One person is dead and another is injured after a shooting at a busy shopping center in Sandy Springs.
Police noted the scene at Orchard Park Shopping Center on Dunwoody Club Drive was “very active” earlier in the evening.

It is currently unclear where in the shopping center that includes a Kroger grocery store the shooting took place.
Police have confirmed that one person died from the injuries they suffered in the shooting. The condition of the second victim is unknown at this time.

Trey Lyda was with his kids when he heard gunshots at 5:15 p.m.
“It was crazy to happen right when it did because everybody was going shopping. It was people were freaking out,” Lyda told Channel 2′s Matt Johnson.
Witnesses say they heard three to four gunshots. At least one of the bullets hit a victim in the leg.
The identities of neither victim have been released.
Investigators have not yet released any information on potential suspects or motive in the shooting.
