NORTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Leaders at an Alpharetta American Legion post want "Pokemon Go" players to stop making their property a Pokestop after dark.
Members of Post 201 on Wills Road say since the "Pokemon Go" craze started last month, they’ve seen a deluge of players on their property at all hours of the day, so they’ve asked Alpharetta police to patrol the property after dark.
“Don’t get me wrong, we’ve always been a welcoming organization,” past Post Cmdr, Marty Farrell told Channel 2’s Mike Petchenik. “We’ve got 14 very nice acres here in the heart of downtown Alpharetta.”

Farrell said lately some of the players have been leaving behind more than their digital footprints.
“We have people doing their Pokemon while driving, not paying attention to what they’re doing,” he said. “Littering has increased tremendously, and I would say there’s been a little bit of vandalism.”
Farrell showed Petchenik damage to a Korean War-era tank on the property that he believes a player likely caused late at night.

“What you bring with you, take with you. Don’t trash the place. Don’t litter and be respectful of our property. That’s all we ask,” he said.
Petchenik asked Pokemon player Aaron Abdullah why he chose to come to the American Legion property.
“You go and you conquer gyms. I’m on team valor and there are a lot of valor gyms over here,” he said.
Abdullah said it was unfortunate some gamers weren’t respecting the property.
“If you’re out here playing a game everyone should just keep it clean,” he said.
