On June 2, Richard Bartlett III was in the process of moving to a new home. He had put a mattress on top of a friend’s car, but it had come loose so the friend pulled over on the side of the road. Richard had pulled over behind his friend and his mother was in a car behind them both.

Family members said Richard was adjusting and tying the load when he was hit by a passing car.

The only description investigators were able to put together was that of a dark colored or black, four door sedan which was seen driving away from the incident.

Johns Creek Police have tried several different ways to get information on the crash, but thus far they’ve not been able to find the driver. The department says they are going to drive through the community with a mobile digital sign to help bring attention to the unsolved crime.
