Regency Centers is planning to tear down the former Kroger building and build the new Publix store.
The 55,000-square-foot project will also offer space for leasing, retail, and restaurants.
Construction will wrap up in late 2024.
After 47 years, the beloved Kroger location shut its doors in December 2022.
“Disco Kroger” got its nickname because it used to be next to a dance club in the 1980s.
The side of the store featured a large disco-themed mural.
