SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — A man who shot at U.S. Marshals trying serve an arrest warrant at a Sandy Springs apartment complex, was found dead inside an apartment Tuesday afternoon following a brief standoff with police.
U.S. Marshals were at the complex to arrest alleged Triple C gang founder Gary Creek. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms said Creek had been charged with conspiracy for more than 40 killings and attempted murders in the Baltimore area.
Sandy Springs police told Channel 2′s Mike Petchenik that they were called out to the Arium Morgan Falls Apartments around 1 p.m. after they said Creek started firing at the agents. No one was injured.
He then holed himself up in an apartment.
Petchenik said throughout the afternoon, he could hear flash-bangs going off inside the complex.

A neighbor took cellphone video of the moments gunfire rang out. The video showed her screaming and running inside for cover.
Police said when they busted down the door around 4:30 p.m., they found Creek dead inside.
“I’m not sure what’s going on because this area is quite nice. We’ve never had any problems before that I know of,” a neighbor said.
Officers were able to get a woman and two children that were inside the apartment during the standoff to safety.
U.S. Marshals said Creek was out on bond and did not show up to court in Baltimore prior to Tuesday’s shooting.
