SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — Sandy Springs detectives are investigating whether five people arrested in connection with a home invasion Sunday morning may be suspects in another one.
Investigators said they were called to a home along Aberdeen Drive around 3 a.m. Sunday when five armed intruders broke into a house while the homeowners were there.
When the intruders realized people were home, they ran, police said. The stolen car the suspects were in was later spotted in Dooly County.
The suspects then got into a chase with Dooly County deputies and crashed the car into an 18-wheeler.
Dashcam video shows two of the suspects running away from the wreckage, but were soon stopped by deputies.
All five were taken into custody. The Dooly County Sheriff’s Office has identified three of the suspects as Jarius Johnson, 17, Jacolbeion Demarcus, 20, Jamie Brown, 18. The other two suspects are juveniles, a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old.

The Sandy Springs Police Department said its detectives are now looking into similarities between the Aberdeen Drive home invasion and another that happened along Northside Drive on Friday.
Police said five armed intruders held the homeowner and her daughter at gunpoint as they stole several things from inside the home. Investigators said two cars were also stolen from the home.
Officers said the victims in this case were not physically hurt but were clearly traumatized by the home invasion.
Channel 2′s Michael Seiden reached out to the family, but did not hear back from them.
The homeowner did post on Next Door that she was home alone with her daughter at 9:45 p.m. Friday night when the intruders came in through the basement and went room to room stealing valuables and then left in two of their cars.
“We have nine security cameras, and they did not care. We have a gate and fence, and they just jumped it,” she wrote.
Several neighbors told Channel 2 Action News that while they believe this is an isolated incident, it is alarming.
“We walk around here every night. Matter of fact, we walked by here probably an hour and a half before that incident happened,” said neighbor Jack Fassee.
Anyone with information in either of these cases is asked to contact Detective S. Smith with the Sandy Springs Police Department here.
