Police say man attempted to kidnap 9-year-old boy from Johns Creek playground

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — Johns Creek Police said a man tried to get a 9-year-old boy to get into his car at a playground on Saturday afternoon.

Police said the incident happened around 5 p.m. at the St. Ives Country Club playground.

The boy told police that a heavyset white man wearing a blue baseball cap drove up to him in a black sedan and said, “Get in my car.”

The child ran off and told an adult. The child was not harmed.

Police say there is no other information about the man in the car. Police are trying to see if any surveillance video in the area showed the incident.

Officers have increased patrols in the area.
