Police searching for 2 ‘armed and extremely dangerous’ men in deadly Kroger parking lot shooting

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — Police have identified two suspects in a deadly shooting in a metro Atlanta Kroger parking lot earlier this week.

Officers were called to the Orchard Park Shopping Center at 2090 Dunwoody Club Drive around 5:20 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a shooting.

Investigators say two men were shot, including 22-year-old Yemi Ezekiel Mabiaku, who died from his injuries.

Police say both men met in the shopping center to complete a drug deal involving “a large amount of marijuana.” During the transaction, shots were fired and both men were shot.

Investigators are now searching for 25-year-old Devonte Lavonne Childs and 35-year-old Cortney Demar White in connection to the murder.

Police say both Childs and White are at large and should be considered “armed and extremely dangerous.”

Once arrested, Childs will be charged with murder, aggravated assault with the intent to murder, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

White will be charged with murder, two counts of aggravated assault with the intent to murder and aggravated battery.

White may be driving a 2009 Cadillac DTS with Georgia tag RYK0197.
