SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — A Sandy Springs police officer was injured in a crash while trying to stop a speeding driver who tried to get away.
The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. Sunday on Georgia 400 south.

Police said that the driver sped toward the I-285 interchange and then made an abrupt lane change across all lanes. The officer lost control of his car and crashed.
It’s unclear if the suspect is in custody.
The officer was taken to the hospital and is stable. The officer’s name has not been released.
