SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — A suspect was shot in Sandy Springs on Tuesday afternoon when he pulled a gun on officers, police say.
Sandy Springs police officers responded to an apartment on Santa Fe Pkwy. just before 3:30 p.m.
They say after knocking on the door, the man came to the door dressed in body armor and armed with a rifle.
Officers fired at the man, hitting him in the vest. They say there is no indication that the suspect fired his weapon.

Officials confirmed that no officers were injured.
Police have not released the suspect’s identity, but say the warrant being served was for failure to appear. They added that he was involved in other things, but declined to comment further.
The suspect is currently being checked out at the hospital. There is no word on his current condition.
